The Beginning

After much ado, I have decided to join the free world of mom's out there and create a blog. I hope to share my firsts as a new mom to our wonderful son. In addition, my hope is that this blog bridges the distance between our friends and family who live far apart from us.

A family history...

We were married 4 and a half years ago. I remember thinking how far away 5 years was...and now here we are. I love Jason so much more today than the day we were married. I never knew I could love someone so much. My husband and I have a HUGE heart for animals. Some must say we are a bit over the top, we have three cats, a beautiful golden retriever named Bear, and a tank full of freshwater fish. Needless to say we can't go to Pet Smart during Adoption Day...we wouldn't survive the consequences!
Caleb

Our son was born in January and has changed our lives. My husband is a natural father and loves it. Becoming a mother was the most amazing day of my entire life. I never knew I could be so incredibly strong. God has shown me so much through our son. Motherhood was a definitely calling in my life. I left a very promising career...or put it off for a couple of years...to raise our family and to make our home life a priority. My favorite scripture, Matthew 16:26, that drove my decision to stay at home states "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul". What is more important than doing that best I can to raise a Godly son?

There were moments in the hospital when I would just sit and stare at Caleb. I was astounded by his beauty. I was overwhelmed with the blessing of his very existence. I memorized every ounce of him. I would sit beside his bassinet and just cry. I felt so very grateful and humble that God would pass this small miracle on to us. Caleb is love. He radiates love, innocence, and a purity that I could not have believed before his birth.
Caleb is now almost 6 months old and it is amazing how much he has grown. I can't believe how fast the time has difted by. I look forward to beginning this blog and sharing my experiences with each of you.
Until next time....
